Who we are?

Lakmal Gunasena And Company was established in 2016 by Mr. GUL Gunasena, a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Sri Lanka. Our values independence, integrity, trust and professionalism. These values serve as an ethical road map to guide our clients. As a business expansion, we established Oyston (Pvt) Ltd in 2019 which was registered under the companies Act No 07 of 2007 at the Registrar of Companies in Sri Lanka as company secretaries. Now, all the Corporate Secretarial Services are provided under Oyston (Pvt) Ltd with effect 1st August 2019.

Faqs

Do you work with individual clients too, or just businesses?

We are glad to help with personal tax and accounting services as well. Many times we start with a business owner for business-related reasons and end up helping with them on their personal taxes/finances as well.

How does your fee structure work?

We do things a little different from some other firms (not to say their way is wrong!). Instead of charging an hourly rate, we typically charge a fixed price for most services which we believe gives us the incentive to deliver your desired results in an efficient and timely manner. During our initial call, we will be able to tell you a pretty accurate range you could expect to pay for services.

We charge lowest price in Sri Lanka for incorporation a Company as encouragement of investments in Sri Lanka.

Can I schedule an in-person meeting with you?

We always welcome the opportunity to meet face-to-face with our clients!

Do you prepare my taxes while I wait?

Our processes are setup so that you do not have to come into our office to share the information needed for us to prepare your taxes other than new clients. We setup a phone interview with each tax client and go through a questionnaire, then we send you an electronic request list that is tailored specifically to you. You will be able to easily share all answers and documents using your phone or computer.

Will you come out to our office to perform weekly/monthly accounting services?

This is typically not our process. In the spirit of operating efficiently, we have systems and processes in place that allow us to communicate and collect information from you remotely. However, if there are matters you feel need to be discussed in person, we are more than happy to meet you at your office or have you come to ours for a face-to-face meeting (this is assuming you are in the local Colombo and Gampaha area: for non-local clients, we can always get on a video call for face time).
